Having grown up in the Galion YMCA, athletics were always part of TJ's life. In High School he played/participated in football, swimming and track- earning seven varsity letters along the way. While in college he participated in several intramural sports including flag-football, water polo (2x champ), volleyball, and indoor soccer.
A 2007 ACL tear put his athletic career on hold. After surgery and accelerated rehab TJ was ready to jump back into sports. During his last two years of college he participated in two life changing charity bike rides; Bikes/4/Tikes and Pelotonia. The former benefited the Children's Miracle Network and the latter was for the James Cancer Center. Those two events opened up the world of endurance sports and there's been no looking back.
